CLIENT CONSULTATION
The process begins with discussions between the designer and the client to understand the project's goals, budget, and scope. This step helps the designer identify the client's needs, preferences, vision and time frames.
We will prepare a letter of engagement explaining our services and breaking down our fee proposal.

CONCEPT DESIGN
After gathering all the details from our initial consultation and site analysis, we’ll begin developing the preliminary design. Using advanced CAD software, we’ll create the initial concept design, which we’ll present to you for review and discussion. This is an exciting stage where we bring your vision to life and collaborate to refine the design further.

WORKING DRAWINGS
The working drawings phase is one of the most crucial and detailed parts of the process. Here, we finalize the specific details of your project, incorporating input from key contributors such as consulting engineers, truss and frame designers, and other specialists to create a complete set of drawings and documentation, ready for Council submission for Building Consent.
PRE-DESIGN & SITE ANALYSIS
During pre-design the designer will evaluate the site, taking into account zoning rules, environmental factors, local regulations and physical features like topography and access to the site, which will inform the concept design

DEVELOPED DESIGN / PRICING PLANS
Once the concept design is finalized, we move on to further developing the details. We'll work together to make decisions on cladding, roofing, glazing, and finishes, which will help refine the plans. At this stage, the plans will be detailed enough for a builder to provide a price estimate, giving you greater clarity and confidence before we move into the working drawings
COUNCIL APPROVAL
The complete set of plans and project documentation will be submitted to the council for review, where it will be assessed for compliance with the New Zealand Building Code and local district planning regulations. We will manage this process on your behalf and respond to any queries the council may have during this review.
